  • Laurie's Corral-Unit 2. Spacious unit featuring 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed. Also, available by request is a twin size rollaway in the living area suitable for a child or small adult. 1 full bathroom with shower and hairdryer. Linens, towels and paper products supplied. We also have soft water. Full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes and utensils and dish soap. Dogs 20 lb. or less are allowed with $50 pet fee per stay. DOGS CANNOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED. Wi-Fi and Roku on the TV + DVD player. Gas BBQ grill and outside seating on a covered patio area with views of Needles and Black Elk Peak. Firepit and wood provided. Use may be restricted by county based on weather conditions. Great for a relaxing evening. Paved road to the property. 4 miles to downtown Historic Downtown Custer, 6 miles to the West entrance of Custer State Park, 9 miles to Sylvan Lake, 11 miles to Crazy Horse, 12 miles to Wind Cave Park, 12 miles to Jewel Cave, 15 miles to Hill City and the 1880 Train and Depot, 34 miles to Mt. Rushmore and 1 hour to Rapid City. Fishing and hiking. Custer offers many dining opportunities. This building has two Units; this listing is for Unit 2. Each unit has unique amenities and are not the same. Please review the amenities as this unit does NOT offer a washer and dryer.

Our stay was perfect. Everything was spotless. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfy. We were traveling with our small dog and with a small fee she was allowed to stay. There is a grassy yard for play and potty. She even spotted a bunny in the grass. The location was quiet and centrally located to everything we wanted to see and do. It was about 10 minutes to the town of Custer. In town there was a good grocery store as well as restaurants. Our interaction with the hosts was minimal because they efficiently handled details up front. Everything went smooth. I highly recommend staying here.

This was hands down the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed at. The views of the black hills and big sky were amazing. You feel like a local SD in a gorgeous setting. The house is set up very practically and the decor was fun and on theme for a true Custer experience.

The one question I ask after staying at a property is, would I stay there again? The answer is yes. The property was as advertised. The property is quiet and away from town, the neighbors have horses and the location is great for star gazing as there are no lights. This is also proved difficult when trying to find the property at nighttime as it is pitch black and hard to see the numbers, thankfully GPS does just fine. The property is only a few miles from the town of Custer. There are two side-by-side rentals and the owners home on the lot with ample parking. There is outside seating and a grill available for use, we did not make use of the grill and really weren't there much at all as we were busy exploring all the National and State parks during all the daylight summer hours. The property has two clean bedrooms, a kitchen/living room main area with another bed and a bathroom. The 3 of us stayed there 3 nights and each had our own bed. Unfortunately, there was just two mini travel size shampoo and soap, which was not enough for 3 people especially for 3 days, so we had to get our own shampoo and soap. I imagine we could have asked the owner for additional soap and shampoo, but I think this is something you shouldn't have to ask for. Overall, I liked the quiet peacefulness of the location. If you prefer walking to town, this is not the property for you, but if you want a little peace and quiet definitely stay here.

We so enjoyed our stay at Laurie’s Corral. A well appointed and decorated space. Clean, comfortable, in a serene spot but conveniently located to the town of Custer and all of the recreation the Black Hills has to offer. Highly recommend.

The place was extremely clean and very well maintained, had everything we needed to cook meals and even grill outside It was located the perfect distance from all the tourist sites and was far enough out of Custer for peace and quiet. The views were amazing from the front seating area and the fire pit was a great way to end the day! We will definitely stay again the next time we vacation in the Black Hills!

We had an amazing stay. The location was perfectly set between Custer and Custer State Park making it very convenient for us to get to everything we wanted to see easily. Beds and furniture were comfortable and they had everything we needed. We didn’t have much time to just sit and relax because we were always on the go but the view is also beautiful if you have time to just sit on the porch and enjoy it!

The area was quiet and rural while being approximately 30 minutes or less from Hot Springs, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and more. Accommodations were comfortable. I would stay again if in the area.

The property was perfect for us with plenty of space (we had 3,but easily fits 6). We found it comfortable and relatively close to all the places we wanted to see - the monuments, Custer State Park. The owners were responsive and we appreciated the detailed instructions. I found the bed very comfortable too. It was well stocked.

Family Vacation

It was in the perfect location, close to crazy horse, mt rushmore as well as shopping. This home was perfect for my son, husband and I!! Loved that although it was a few miles off downtown, it had beautiful views to wake up to! The home was very clean and provided everything we needed. Beds were comfy, main room was spacious, parking was plentiful. We didn't sit outside at night because of our fully-planned days, but the provided chairs and fire pit would have been perfect for relaxing and enjoying the quiet. The host had prompt communication and the check in/check out process was very easy and reasonable. If we ever make it back to Custer, we would absolutely stay here again!

So Good I Had to Come Back to Show My Mom!

I stayed here last fall, & it was perfect! So I took my Mom for Mothers day trip & we so enjoyed our stay!Hosts are over the top excellent hosts! They go above & beyond to make sure your stay is the way you want it!The place is located near everything we wanted to do, & clean clean clean! And we love relaxing at fire pit at end of the day! Country setting close to Custer for great shopping and honestly a perfect hub nearly in the center of all the sites and places of the Black Hills! Not only that, you can see the Cathedral Spires to the right of the southern hill view as you watch the sunrise and set from the patio with a fire pit available too as you get to watch cattle and horses graze in the foreground. As interior goes, decorated to match the ambience of the area, with privacy and an open bathroom with a full kitchen, dining, and living space to provide that homey feel. It's all around a great place to plan your trip in and around the Black Hills!
