"On arrival the check-in experience was amazing and the staff were extremely welcoming and hospitable. We were also fortunate enough to receive a complimentary upgrade, which was very much appreciated, upon arrival for a special occasion.
Our room views were breathtaking and the room was comfortable, beautifully decorated and furnished, and completely accessible.
However, we found that given the 5star status that the bathroom maintenance and cleanliness fell short of our expectations. The shower seals, tiles and grout were black with mould as was the rain shower head, which wasn't operating correctly as a result, there was also no shower gel in the shower gel dispenser (however) the staff did get this filled promptly once we reported it).
Unfortunately, breakfast also fell short of our 5 star expectations. We were served cold toast that was barely toasted, when we ordered our cooked breakfast we requested another serving of brown toast, disappointingly breakfast was served without the toast. We requested it again, along with tomato ketchup, from the same server and waited for a further 10 mins before requesting sauce and toast, yet again, however only this time from a different server. We received our sauce, eventually but we never received any toast or was the error or failings acknowledged by any of the staff that we had spoke to. Needless to say we left breakfast disappointed, packed up and checked out.
This was a really disappointing experience given the cost."
Attractive light-filled detached apartment near the sea in an East Cork village.
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at Sentio for two nights and it was the perfect base for exploring the gorgeous area around Cork. We had no trouble finding the spot with the detailed directions sent ahead of time and there was plenty of room for parking. The owners were quick to answer all my questions and offered many recommendations for things to do and see in the area. The apartment is beautiful, bright, clean and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything! Our favorite activity was a short trip to Cobh and also a beautiful seaside dinner in Ballycotton. This property exceeded our expectations in every way and we hope to be back!"
"We did not have breakfast but regarding the stay, it was excellent. Due to the time of year (just after Christmas), there were very few other guests at the place, but I would expect it would be much more active in the Summer. No complaints."
