Cromarty Bridge from the Black Isle The Black Isle is neither Black nor truly an Isle as it is connected to the mainland by a fairly narrow isthmus. However the main route across it involves crossing the Beauly Firth at Kessock Bridge in the south from Inverness and then crossing the Cromarty Firth on the Cromarty Bridge to Easter Ross.
