"We’ve been coming to Davis for a long time but this was our first time staying in Black Bear. The Bear Lair was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and plenty of firewood. The central location was great as we bounced between Dolly Sods, Timberline, White Grass and downtown Davis. Abby was super responsive and accommodating. We definitely plan to return. "

"Very old building (I believe we read that it was constructed in 1856) with character. Nicely remodeled/ updated interior. We had everything we needed. We enjoyed the fire pit and the sound of the creek, as well as the proximity to state parks. Good communication from owner. Would recommend."
