Pictures are not accurate
Let me start by saying we saved for months to pay for this vacation and sacrificed a whole lot. We like most families were coming from out of state and depended heavily on the online pictures and description of the property. We arrived to check in and were delayed well over an hour and a half because the cleaning service was not finished - which would have been fine had we actually walked into a clean home. First impressions are everything and ours was so bad. I was so disappointed I cried and felt the weight of my family and their disappointment on my shoulders. When you spend this amount of money your expectations are high - my husband called Brindley and was even more aggravated because they truly just said “things like this happen” - no apologies. We had no where to go and we felt STUCK! The Queen bed needs to be replaced - my husband and I are of average build and we found ourselves fighting the inward pull to the middle - the mattress was uncomfortable. The bunk beds are adequate for children but I would not suggest for adult sleeping arrangements. The pool area was nice but again the pictures online make it look much bigger than it actually is. The dryer also needs servicing/replacement as it took at least two full cycles to dry clothes (if I was the property owner I would be concerned as this definitely drives the energy costs up). The shower curtains are dingy and certainly did not give us a feeling of clean. All throughout the home the vents were caked with dust and the walls were scuffed and in need of painting/TLC. Sheets and blankets were not clean in the king master and so we RE washed but again the dryer held up the process. None of our party felt like we were walking into a freshly clean home - it didn’t even smell clean. We were all so very disappointed. Many of the beach chairs were worn and in need of replacing.
Some positives - the pool was refreshing. The outside furniture was of good quality. The decks were enjoyable. The walks to the beach were nice and the location was safe and convenient.
Even though we walked in to a bad experience we remained respectful and left it much better than the way we found it. I hardly ever write reviews but I am hoping that we are able to save another family from a vacation disappointment. It is my belief that when you walk into a property like this and are stopping this kind of money you should be “wowed” in the most positive way - we were NOT!
