A Little Bit of Heaven
I have had the great good fortune to travel to many places in this world and this is one place that I would really like to come back to and spend some time. Marie Jo and Gilbert have carefully added three beautiful rooms to their home so they can share this part of the world with a few lucky travelers. My room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated with a balcony and a gorgeous view of the countryside. The spacious bath had nothing but the best fixtures like you would find in only the finest hotels. Marie Jo and Gilbert were very welcoming and helpful and served a delicious individually prepared breakfast complete with homemade jams and crepes. The weather prevented me from enjoying the infinity pool and garden but they take great pride in sharing everything with their guests. The nearby church and town of Conques is, of course, a highlight but I was also intrigued with the village of St. Cyprien and the other beautiful villages and towns in the area. As Gilbert says, this is “La France profonde” and it is an area of calm and beauty that I would really like to get back to and explore. Le Ponsonnet would be a perfect place to start such a journey. It is not on a main road but I plugged “Le Ponsonnet” into my GPS and it took me right there.
