Colo Cosy Here by Tiny Away is located in the village of Colo Heights, just an hour from the historic town of Richmond. This tiny house hideaway lets you stay among native bushland with towering ironbarks, Angophoras, and Blackbutts, set against a backdrop of shrub species like grevillea and melaleuca.
Explore nearby Crestwood Reserve, Nurragingy Reserve, and Bungarribee Park, or venture to the iconic Blue Mountains National Park and Hawkesbury Lookout. Perfect for adventurers seeking local treasures.
This cozy 139-square-foot accommodation is one of Colo Heights' finest holiday homes, offering easy access to water. It features split air conditioning, a kitchenette with cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities, including an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, a hand basin, and a gas-heated shower for hot water.
Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the tiny home and its immediate surroundings, with no restrictions on the property apart from the host’s private quarters after hours. Please note that access to neighboring properties is not permitted.
Preorders and Activities comes with 24 hrs prior notice:
- Basic and full breakfast options are available on-site upon request for an additional fee
- Firewood is available at $25 per 20 kg, which includes kindling, firelighters, and matches.
- Guided bushwalking experiences and art lessons are also available for an extra fee.
The Neighborhood:
Colo Cosy Here by Tiny Away can be found in Colo Heights, a village 71 km northwest of Sydney, which is surrounded by dense national parks like Wollemi and Yengo. Its rugged terrain offers opportunities for bushwalking, camping, and exploring trails such as Bob Turner's Track to the Colo River. The community is small and values a rural lifestyle. Nearby, Richmond, established in 1810, features historic buildings and serves as a gateway to the Blue Mountains via the scenic Bells Line of Road.
Nearby, you’ll find plenty of places to enjoy the outdoors. Crestwood Reserve is great for a short stroll, with a playground, restrooms, and picnic spots. Nurragingy Reserve combines open parkland, forest, and gardens, perfect for walks and picnics.
A little further, the Blue Mountains National Park is about two hours away, with highlights like Jenolan Caves, Mount Boyce, and Mount York. On the drive up, stop at Hawkesbury Lookout for sweeping views of the Nepean River and Cumberland Plain. For wide open spaces, Bungarribee Park has walking trails and one of Sydney’s largest off-leash dog runs.
If you’re after a day trip, Cattai National Park offers camping, fishing, canoeing, and barbecue areas at Cattai Farm, while Mitchell Park provides quiet bush tracks and fishing along the river.
Getting Around:
By Car:
- The drive from Sydney CBD to the property takes approximately 1 hour and 56 minutes via the M2 and Putty Road, covering a distance of 97 km.
- The location is accessible with a 2WD, except during road closures caused by flooding, extreme fire events, or landslides.
By Public Transport:
- Public transport options are not available in this area, as the only buses serve school routes and are not suitable for guests. Private transport or a taxi is necessary.
By Flight:
- The nearest airport is Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport, located approximately 98 km away. From the airport, you can drive to the property in about 2 hours.
Other Things to Note:
- Wifi is not available
- BBQ grill is not available
- Pets should be kept on a leash at all times
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Smoking is allowed in designated areas on the property
- Guidelines for cassette toilet use and care will be shared prior to booking
- Roads and driveways may become uneven or muddy during rainy weather
- Mobile reception is good for Telstra; Weak signals for Optus & Spark; and no signals for the rest
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Pets are allowed with 24 hours' notice. The full policy will be sent before arrival.
- The nearest open shops/restaurants after 5 PM are about 35 km away. Guests are advised to bring their own food for lunch and dinner.
Important note:
- BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
