Hotel Excelsior Splendide

"One of the few bright spots in our otherwise horrific Italy trip. Very nice hotel with an incredible balcony view of the lake. Nice staff which was rare in Italy and incredible quaint town. Easy to take the ferry across to the other side and head up to SUI for the day because the ferry is right next to hotel. The power situation was very odd which prevents the 5 star... You have to have a key plugged into the wall to activate the power which means if you're out of the room you have no power to charge devices, etc."

"Our stay at Palazzo Genazzini was absolutely impeccable from beginning to end! Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations, from the stunning accommodations and breathtaking lake views to the exceptional hospitality of the staff. The staff truly made our experience unforgettable. Tanya was especially wonderful, but there were so many others who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensure we had everything we needed. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Their genuine warmth and willingness to help made our stay even more special. The rooms were beautifully appointed, elegant, and thoughtfully designed, with wonderful amenities such as a heated towel rack and Dyson hair dryer. And the views of Lake Como were simply spectacular! Waking up to those incredible views was an experience in itself. The location is another huge highlight. Situated directly in front of the lake, the hotel offers easy access to transportation and makes exploring the beautiful towns around Lake Como incredibly convenient. The food was also delicious and added to an already exceptional experience. We absolutely loved everything about Palazzo Genazzini! It was the perfect place to enjoy the beauty and romance of Lake Como. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be staying here again!"

"Staff were incredible at helping with my numerous requests. Breakfast was delicious. The room was lovely. For the price I can’t think of a better place I’ve ever stayed at. Not sure when I’ll be back to lake Como but if I ever do, I’ll stay here again!"

"This is a great property. You do need a car but the town of Colico is just a 10 minute drive and you can easily get to Varenna and then a ferry over to Bellagio. The views from the home are spectacular, our group of 6 were very comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat."
