Individual lava flows are shown here by the horizontal layering. When the glacial ice finally disappeared, the flow of meltwater stopped. We could hear the sound of water falling in the distance. The Chasm can be accessed by taking Highway 97 to 16 km north of Clinton, and then driving 4 km to the park on a paved road east of Highway 97. It can also be accessed from further north off Highway 97 about 15 km southwest of 70 Mile House. (September 2019)

Room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed for most of our stay. No place to eat breakfast in the whole town before New Year's Day!

Every thing as expected, and beds were actually quite comfortable. The only challenge is road noise being so close tot he street but nothing the hotel can do about that.
