"River’s Bend was one of our favorite western VA cabin stays to date. Its location is unique - remote enough for dark skies and the sounds of wildlife, with the thrill of the train when it makes its way through the tunnel under the property. The cabin is so cozy, the beds firm and very comfortable. I slept so well every night. We loved the screened in porch, and the river lookout off the tiered back deck. The host assured our comfort with plenty of blankets, pillows and quilts. Everything was clean and easy to find/use. We hiked the mowed trails and explored the remnants of the last James River Lock on the property. So cool!"

"We did not use Hot Tub. There were 3 doggie beds, ( we call them climbs) in the basement, that was a great addition for our dog as she loves to hang out on them. Very pet friendly, very clean. Convenient to Lexington to see all the history in the town. The drive out to the house is awesome, very remote but we still felt very safe. Deer were everywhere. Big yard for the dog to play as well. We would definitely stay here again."

"DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT even consider staying here! The property looks 100 times worse than the pictures online. When we arrived, there is no one staffing the hotel. There was a note to go to their sister property, Magnuson Hotel, to check in. Asked there if it would be possible to stay there for the night instead. They did have a room, and the only reason we stayed was the room had already been paid for and no refund was available. BIG MISTAKE!!! The oder of pot permeated the hotel. It’s a long stay unit and people were sitting outside their rooms openly smoking pot and drinking. "
