After driving 14 hours from Wisconsin to drop my daughter off at Howard University, my family and I arrived exhausted and looking forward to relaxing. Instead, we have encountered a series of unacceptable problems. First, the garage key was missing from my check-in envelope. While customer service offered a reimbursement for alternative parking, I should not have to pay out-of-pocket for an amenity I already covered....

"Musty air, cobwebs bug and mosquito filled basement turned living space. Slippery bathroom with an untidy sight. Worst of, we could literally hear the noises and steps by the hostess and her family. We understand that kids are very active, however it was constant and very unnerving."

"Stayed here several times before. It is a gilded era mansion with a modern wing of hotel rooms attached. The modern rooms are good except for the barn door bathroom door, no bedside table on one side of the bed, cheap furnishings and flooring showing wear, but we wanted to stay in one of the rooms in the actual mansion this time, even though I expect they are smaller. They checked us in to a modern room without saying anything and when I asked, they said they had an "availability problem."...
