Golden Gables Inn Dazzler Select by Wyndham

"Amazing front desk staff. Big thanks to Andrea who help us with a couple issues, So clean and the most comfortable mattress and pillows. Slept so well. Pool was clean with plenty of chaise loungers. Nice playground for kids. Nice unexpected touch was watching the Conway Railroad train pass behind the property. Day 2 our a/c unit went bonkers. Andrea upgraded us to an amazing suite with fireplace, full kitchen, huge bath with floor heater and massive LR and BR w/king bed! Staff was super responsive and quick to rectify any concerns. This will be our only choice going forward for all our future visits."

"The check in was fine, but the young man seemed somewhat distracted. The indoor pool was dirty on the second day of our use. The arcade was a disappointment, some of the games were not working. Hotel was centrally located."

"The room was as advertised and comfortable. The lighting in the stairwell in the evenings was dim, several bulbs were out. Also the road leading to our condo was quite rough, large uneven sections of the paved road made for a bumpy drive."

"The actual room is clean but the building itself seems old and outdated outside. Also, there's a bad smell in the hallway. Breakfast options were also limited. Overall, a good decent room to stay overnight with many stores around, minus the overall environment that can make you feel uncomfortable at first when walking in."

"This historic hotel should compare to resorts such as the Greenbrier, the Homestead, the Broadmoor in customer service. My only complaint in that regard was the lack of staff upon initial arrival at the front door. I am used to never being allowed to touch my luggage until a porter has delivered it to my room. I'm used to not having to open my own car door when I arrive. I'm used to a doorman when I enter the lobby. None of that happened here and I think it should. That being said, I loved the hotel and I'm sure we'll stay again. I loved the history, including the haunted history. I loved cocktails on the sweeping veranda overlooking Mount Washington. Our room was small by today's standards but superb in every other way. The complimentary shuttle service to "off campus" resort properties and amenities was great. I believe this hotel will be on my calendar next summer!"
