It is one flight of stairs up. There is a large bathroom with a nice hot shower and excellent air-conditioning. However, the mattress was very soft and both of us rolled to the middle. "It wasn't apparent from the photos, but this unit was partially in the basement of the building, which was great at night, we didn't hear anything coming from outside, but the kitchen and common area had no windows so it's a little dark. There is no Kitchen table or common area with a TV, couch, etc. If you're not planning on cooking for yourself, it's probably fine. Beds were comfortable, and each room had it's own bathroom with a shower. Everything seemed pretty clean. It's bare-bones, but...
