Staying at the Bard's Inn was a delightful experience! It was so convenient to the Shakespeare festival, shops, and dining. Breakfast was amazing, with homemade items and lots of choices.
It's cozy and themed to the Festival. Susan is very knowledgeable about the plays and the Festival history. The breakfast each day is delicious and varied. There was major construction going on next door which made it noisy and a bit dirty, but that's temporary, I'm sure. It was a wonderful stay.
Great, charming old house with loads of personality! With SO much schtuff and numerous nicknacks everywhere, it was surprising that it was as clean as it was; not spotless mind you, but clean enough that we didn’t worry.
The breakfast wasn’t bad as it was home cooked. Because there were just a few guests staying at the same time as us, the main food was limited but that was not a surprise. Still, there were other standard options: cereals and bagels, etc. Most importantly, the coffee WAS hot!
This bed and breakfast was absolutely lovely. The grounds and house were beautiful, the rooms very comfortable and clean. The hosts provided a delicious breakfast and were a please to visit with. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to staying there again!
This is a lovely place! We used 3 rooms upstairs and were very comfortable. Our older teenage boys are used to regular hotels, but loved how the Bards Inn felt like a home.
This is a charming, quaint historic home right in the heart of downtown Cedar City. It is a beautiful drive to the Zion Canyon area and Zion itself. There are also back road options. The host is friendly and displays a beautiful breakfast setting with very tasty choices. There
We stayed in the Beatrice room, which is the downstairs apartment. There are three different rooms for sleeping, and our group of four had plenty of space.
Loved our stay here for so many reasons! Most of all was convenience to the festival. We walked easily to all shows. House was comfy and quaint. Staff were very flexible and friendly.
We loved our stay at Bards Inn. The location was fantastic to be able to walk to the theater and to downtown shops and restaurants. We stayed in the Mistress Ford room which was equipped with everything you’d ever need, included a full kitchen with supplies, and was so lovely! We enjoyed our breakfast on the sun porch and our visit with the owner. Thanks for a perfect overnighter!
This Inn has become a delightful tradition for our annual trip to the Shakespeare Festival. We love the B&B breakfast where there is the option to chat with other guests about the various plays. *the host is lovely and will accomodate GF/DF needs...just let her know in advance.
We enjoyed our stay at Bard’s Inn. It is easy to find and within walking distance of several restaurants. Our room was clean and comfortable. There was coffee/tea making amenities in the room, as well as a small microwave and refrigerator. The buffet style breakfast provided a variety of options, and was tasty. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Cedar City.
Note: stairs to the second floor may be difficult for some to negotiate.
This is a quaint, older property in a quiet neighborhood. Very close to SUU and the Shakespeare theaters. We stayed in the basement Beatrice room. It looks just like the pictures on the website. Beds were comfy and we didn’t hear any noise from upstairs until around 8 am as they were setting up for breakfast. Breakfast was delicious! Vegetable frittata, sausage, homemade yogurt and granola. Yum! If you are looking for new and modern, this isn’t the place. But if you want to stay in a place with character and charm, this could be just right for you.

Disliked: Cleanliness
The property is unique and historically significant. The room was comfortable, with a kitchenette. However, it was crowded with furniture (no place to conveniently open a suitcase other than the floor or bed). Also, both the curtains and fabric shower curtain hadn’t been dusted in a long time, and the shower curtain liner was mildewed on the hem. The wall around the bathroom sink was spattered. I found sleeping impossible not because the bed was uncomfortable (it was great) but because the sheets reeked of fabric softener. My hands and pajamas actually smelled like fabric softener, it was so strong. The bathroom towels smelled like they had been forgotten in the washer and the musty smell covered up with excessive fabric softener. The breakfast was good and offered lots of choices, including delicious homemade yogurt. Even though this place is incredibly convenient to the Utah Shakespeare Festival, I do not plan to stay here again if I attend next year.
