The Imperial Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The staff are the stars at the Imperial, as they were outstanding. We were disappointed with breakfast, which was lukewarm, with fried eggs straight from the kitchen barely warm. The Imperial is like an old duchess, who needs some TLC. However, the room was superb, except for the shower. My husband had to use a toothbrush handle to turn it on and off. Had I been on my own, I would have had to ask someone to turn the shower on, as I didn’t have the dexterity to turn the dial. Even so, we had a lovely stay overall and would recommend it to our friends and family.."

Scarisbrick Hotel

"There is very little room for parking at the hotel . We parked in NCP close by. The rooms were clean but towels were not changed nor bins emptied . Breakfast was too highly priced for what we got and it tended to be cold . The hotel is aging and on the whole the management do their best .Our room for the first night was noisy being opposite a pub with doors wide open until 3am, loud music blared out. This was not the hotel to blame. The manager moved us by upgrading our room to an executive suite which was really nice. I believe that cleaning staff and waiting staff are on zero hour contracts an on minimum wage so they have little incentive. Having stayed in 3 other Britannia hotels including the other 2 in Southport this is the most budget option and less maintenance appears to be put into it. However on the shole we enjoyed our stay and were very grateful to the manager for the upgrade."
