"We chose Solar do Castelo because of its unique location and luxury reputation, but unfortunately it didn’t quite meet our expectations. "Excellent location and very clean. The check-in was smooth and the host provided clear instructions. Great shower and air conditioner. Lots of cafes around for food and drink. It is next to the castle and you can frequently see peacocks walking around. You have to walk a few minutes to catch an Uber as private taxis can only enter this area. This was not an issue for us."

Clean and well-maintained property, nice pool area, outdoor bar, and a fun lobby bar area to catch a soccer match with guests. As close to clean, beautiful beaches as you can be in the area. "great location — everywhere we wanted to visit / eat was within walking distance! staff were super friendly and rooms were good! not sure if this can be a typical 5 star hotel but it’s a really good 4 star none the less. the free spa amenities are okay — the pool isn’t that warm and neither the sauna."

It is down a very dirty back alley which is not good at night at all it’s is very cobbled with big holes! No taxi will take you down the alley to the street nor pick you up !!!!
