"I've stayed at De Vere Cotswold Water Park many times and I'm always blown away by how amazing my stay is.
The hotel is spectacular, modern and spotlessly clean. Every team member is welcoming and goes out of there way to make sure you have an enjoyable stay.
The food is also a highlight, in beautiful surroundings and super tasty.
This is my go-to hotel when in this area and would highly recommend."
"I am wary of doing chain hotels but chose to stay here due to the location and the fact it boasted a "fitness facility". The location was convenient as it was sited at a Welcome Break services. I was able to park close to the entrance. I was warmly greeted but on checking in found out that there was a separate £5 charge for overnight parking which was not disclosed at the outset of booking the accommodation. There were multiple dining options either within the services complex or at the hotel restaurant. I over-indulged but was happy to work it off in the gym area. This turned out to be a delusional expectation as the fitness room comprised of a few hand weights which did not go up to more than about 5kg. I usually do cardio on the treadmill but the one they had there was not working so my attempt to work off excess calories was a bust. In certain parts of the corridors there was an aroma which felt more synonymous with parts of Amsterdam. I usually rate my stays based on the triumvirate criteria of shower, sleep and breakfast. The first two were great and the breakfast buffet quite average. I personally believe that this stay did not represent good value for money with the tipping point being the "gym". I would not look to stay here again."
"Great location for popping into Cirencester and day out in the Cotswolds. Room was huge and very clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel was undergoing a paint job when we stayed but everyone working was very polite and helped us avoid any wet spots! Would definitely stay again,"
"Decent location - ~10 minutes walk from Oxford City Center. Friendly staff. Good breakfast, including hot choices. Rooms tight for more than 2 people."
"This hotel is sincerely overpriced and very underwhelming. I had a host of issues from start to finish and couldn't wait to leave. For £239 for one night and a supposed 4* rating I found nothing of that calibre anywhere.
I booked a twin room expecting two separate single beds. It turned out to be two single beds pushed together with one huge duvet and no room to push the beds apart. I went to move the small table within the room and the underneath was dripping in an unknown sticky substance. I am immunocompromised so cleanliness is top priority. I called down to have the issue dealt with and a surly cleaner came with a cloth and half heartedly wiped it and left.
The air con didn't work. My 18 degree room was stifling with no way to open a window. My view was scaffolding against brick walls. The freeview only had 24 channels (which sounds a lot but I travel with my Challenge TV obsessed son and he was most put out)
After a full day out and early travel l was looking forward to kicking my shoes off but the carpet was stained so I kept my shoes firmly on my feet. The room was stifling with no air flow.
The bathroom was fine and clean with a good sized shower. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows smelt old.
Breakfast was bland and mediocre.
The staff were ok. Not impolite but not chatty either. The bartender refused to answer me directly but aimed his answers to my sons like I wasn't there.
We had really looked forward to some luxury at this hotel but it was sadly lacking"
