The room and bathroom were immaculately cleaned and well kept and the host is a gem who cooks the best breakfast which includes lovely free range eggs from her own hens. Waking up in the morning to the view over a beautiful garden beyond the lake to Skiddaw was an extra treat as each morning there was a new ever changing Lake District vista. I'll definitely be back! "This is the third time we have stayed here and previously had an excellent room, especially for the price. This time, we were 'upgraded', and although there was a new shower in the bathroom, the bed was directly under the window and an overight security light outside shone under and around the curtains as well as directly into the bathroom and therefore under the door and then into the bedroom. Not only this, but the mattress and pillows were uncomfortable, which had not been the case on our previous stays. I am listing these issues as I believe management does check out reviews and need to be made aware of this."
