We were just a short walk down from Colchester Castle and High Street, where we could find a wide range of pubs, restaurants, and shops. "Very nice quaint cottage everything you need for a comfortable stay. Bed very comfy. The only downside for me was the very steep narrow stairs but were manageable. The owner was very nice and helpful lovely breakfast basket left in the kitchen with bacon eggs tomatoes bread butter and milk. A fire made in the grate just needed lighting. I had a very pleasant stay would definitely stay there again."

"Stayed in a twin room, good sized beds which were comfortable with a choice of pillows. Hotel was clean and there was a good choice at breakfast. Wasn’t keen on the parking payment machine being outside the entrance. It took a few minutes to use and you can get quite chilly in the process. It would be much better if it was in the lobby."
