"Stayed for 2 nights B&B with my 5 year old granddaughter. Pros outweigh the cons. Pros Fantastic location. Just across the road from the pier and about a 5 minute walk to the shops and bars. Breakfast was good. There was a good choice of cereal as well as continental. Cooked breakfast was really good, served promptly and freshly cooked. Room amenities are excellent. Cans of water, which was much needed during the heatwave, plenty of teabags/milk & sugar and a coffee maker. Also the little extras like earplugs & an eye mask and a fan are a nice touch. Cons We stayed in a superior rear room with twin beds (room 106). Sadly I didnt regard it as ‘superior’. The room was quite small and the view was dismal. The carpet was quite grubby and unfortunately the lack of cleanliness in the bathroom let it down significantly. What looked like blood stains on the walls and thick grime under the sink plug were unacceptable for the price I paid for the room. The room got very hot despite having a fan. Heavy duvets on the beds during hot weather isn’t ideal, may be worth investing in lower tog duvets for the warmer months. On our last day they decided to carry out maintenance on the lift so I had to carry our suitcases down 2 flights of stairs, not great when you’re recovering from cancer surgery. Would I stay again? Yes, but I think I’d prefer a bigger room with a view which would obviously cost more so I’d expect better cleanliness."

"Hotel was in a very nice location Lots of parking outside , free after 4pm to 10 The room had a fan, the amenities in the room were nice Breakfast was fantastic and absolutely worth getting Pleasant stay would stay again "

The Seafront Hotel by Compass Hospitality

"Don't stay here, pay a bit more and go somewhere that isn't a dump and doubles it's prices in the school holidays. A £60 room (I learned this after our stay) cost us £120. The room really wasn't good at all. A window cracked from top to bottom, a toilet roll dispenser hanging off the wall barely held in place by the end of a screw, an inspection hole next to the toilet with a cover that kept falling off, curtains that were so long they filled the floor space between the window and the bed and caused me to trip on them multiple times, there was small brown splashes of something on the wall above the toilet, the shower was barely powerful enough to have a shower under; it was like being drippen on...and there's more. Suffice to say, for £50 I would have thought 'fair enough, you get what you pay for' but for the price we paid, do not bother. I DO NOT recommend this hotel at all. Only saving grace: the lady at the front desk was very nice and understanding."

"Easy check in with friendly staff, rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Couldn't fault out stay and we'll certainly be back."

"Just one observation to make, during my stay we encountered a heatwave, the availability of a fan would have been appreciated. Other than that the hotel was excellent."

"Rooms clean friendly staff nearby shops and restaurants. Looks a little run down in areas and could do with a bit of maintenance. Used facilities and bar in adjacent hotel that was internally linked as the diner and bar in our side was shut. Lovely cooked breakfast reasonably priced . Don’t worry about the weird noises the lift makes when reaching top floor bounces a bit on arrival. Bath takes a while to fill hot water fine but cold a little low on pressure. Overall a pleasant stay."

"Good value hotel in a great central seafront location. Room facilities were good, new bathroom with good shower, tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries, fluffy towels, hairdryer, nicely decorated. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast (continental plus choice of eggs). Public areas needed a facelift, no wifi in bedrooms, only public areas. Central website was poor, (not the fault of the hotel), received a confirmation, then another email saying that payment hadn’t gone through and booking would be cancelled, but when I turned up at the hotel it turned out that payment had gone through so all was well."

"Room was just basic. Thin walls can hear people from room next door. Creeky floors from room above. Balcony would do eith table and chairs."
