Top Canyon Hotel Reviews
Spark by Hilton Amarillo Western Plaza
10/10 Excellent
"Room was very clean. Staff was friendly. Parking was crowded. They did tell us once we got inside that there was an overflow spot. Hotel was easy to access and close to restaurants. Bed was comfy"
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Amarillo West by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"New, modern facility conveniently located near I40 on the west end of Amarillo. Ideal for an overnight stay for those heading west. The included buffet breakfast is good, not great. Ample parking. Nice indoor pool. Would definitely stay here again."
Best Western Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites
8/10 Good
"the door to the outside not the main door did not lock overnight or at least it was not locked at 5 am when I was leaving my room was next to this door and it was very difficult getting into the gym. otherwise everything else was good."
Atrea Inn Amarillo
10/10 Excellent
"Very nice and clean for overnight stay, good continental breakfast."
Drury Inn & Suites Amarillo
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was outstanding. Elevators seemed very slow"
Hampton Inn & Suites Canyon
8/10 Good
"The room smelled when we first entered. It was like someone had used the bathroom and it hadn't aired. The smell never left. Next morning showered and the floor was discolored but didn't seem to be dirty except some leftover hairs. Not sure it had been cleaned. Other than that, the room was fine. Front desk, Michelle was delightful upon check in."
The Aoudad Cabin at Palo Duro
10/10 Excellent
"These little cabins just outside of Palo Duro are a perfect spot to park and enjoy the canyon. We only stayed one night (on the way to Colorado), but enjoyed the time there. Next door is the Sad Monkey, which was a nice surprise – live music, good food, good atmosphere. I don't like leaving less than 5 stars, but of note – the pillows and mattress were rough. My wife woke up with neck pain like she's never had. To the owners, that’s worth the price of an upgrade. We sank toward each other on the mattress, which means it's very old. The AC units are also extremely loud, especially when the compressor kicks in (enough to wake us from sleep all night). Again, worth an upgrade to better units. Otherwise, this was a cozy, nice spot with good views, and less than a mile from Palo Duro. We'd stay again – but bring our own pillows. "
The Coyote Cabin at Palo Duro
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was just what we needed. Clean bed, cold A/C. Just good and basic. Pillows could be better. Fan dud not work. But it took care of us."
The Roadrunner Tiny Cabin at Palo Duro
10/10 Excellent
"The cabin is perfect inside and outside. We had everything we needed. Very private and well equipped. Nicer landscaping with a purple flowers bush attracted several dozen of butterflies flew around the outdoor sitting area before the storm. It’s the perfect rental to visit Palo Dulo. Thanks to its proximity, we were able to visit this beautiful state park twice in extreme weather of extreme heat and severe thunderstorm warning! Palo Dulo is comparable to Grand Canyon! We went back to the cabin to avoid thunderstorms, had a cozy dinner inside, then drove back to the park for a short hike and watched sunset on the canyon with lightning and monsoon moved further away in the background! Best of all is the host’s hospitality. Kathy had us checking in earlier, had chilled cokes and snacks welcomed us, then sent extra water bottles for us to hydrate while visiting Palo Dulo. We had amazing time. Thanks so much Kathy."
