Hostels in Canterbury

My first time staying at a Haka House hostel and I was blown away! They kindly let me check in early as my bed was ready and a towel was provided upon request. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm but it felt more like a 4 bed because of the way the room was divided. The beds were very well thought out with little shelves, a reading light, outlets, and a privacy curtain. The lockers were huge. Bathrooms were clean and shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were provided which was a pleasant surprise. I...

The place is great!

Clean room.

Loved how they held to the theme, even signs are to inmates from wardens. Be sure to take your own towel. Lots of fun, but probably not what mature travelers will prefer for long visits.

Cheap stay with lakefront view of Lake Tekapo, but has all the necessities you need although the accommodation is small. Beautiful, quiet location. with laundry which was nice for us.

Very tidy and warm accommodation, the only one issue during my stay was couldn’t find a towel at all, and reception already closed before 6PM meaning no one to ask. But I can say fantastic place to stay with overall impression.

Amazing staff, friendly environment and clean

Such friendly and welcoming people who work here. Had a wonderful, charming time during my two week stay. The space heater worked great and made my room cozy during cold nights. The shower water was hot. The food at the restaurant downstairs was impressively delicious especially for being at a hotel/bar. The TV was massive and very comfortable bed. Free WiFi and towels. Very affordable. So many things here to be grateful for.

The host fantastic, we had the place to ourselves basically. The views were great.
