"La casa roja, que es solo una parte de la casa, pues se comparte con la casa azul, es oscura en la planta de abajo, donde solo hay 2 pequeñas ventanas. "We chose this hotel because it was an hour from Santander and just off our main route from Portugal to the ferry port for the UK. Lovely town with impressive old centre and lovely riverside walks. Lively market the day we arrived (Tuesday). Be aware that self-parking is actually free on-street parking but area seems very secure so we left most of our extensive contents in car and had no problem. Also,hotel restaurant non-functioning so sought dinner in town and nowhere open until 9pm. But...

"On street parking close by. Only saw staff in morning at breakfast. Room was clean and roomy but one or 2 items needed maintenance. Bathroom light switch was intermittent, sink plug .Bed was comfortable and breakfast was basic with lots of processed packet food Ok for an overnight."
