"Staying at Hotel Tren Maya Calakmul, was a brilliant experience. We arrived at the Tren Maya Station Calakmul and the transportation from the hotel was already waiting for us, they were expecting us without specific transportation arrangements. They’ll know you will arrive if you made a reservation. The trip from the station to the hotel is about an hour on a well paved maintained road. The driver made a few stops to let us see a few crossing animals in the jungle. Fabulous. At the check-in, there was no extra cost for early use of the beautiful deluxe bedroom. Immediately, we arranged a trip to the Zona arqueológica Calakmul for the next day. They also offered transportation with a cost (transportation from and to the train station also has a cost) a bit under 1000 pesos round trip. The facilities at the hotel are new and it is eco friendly . They run energy with solar panels and there is AC in the bedrooms. Remember, the hotel is in the middle of the jungle and it is humid. The restaurant has delicious food all day. The pool area is exceptional and the different common areas contains a pool table and other game tables. There is a gym with new equipment. The views and the vibe being outdoors is present at all times. The personnel is very helpful, kind and attentive. We stayed for 2 nights. I want to go back. Definitely recommended. Yes, the bedrooms are very private and comfortable."
