we had the most lovely stay here, the property owner is the sweetest lady with the sweetest dogs! perfect for people who want to be outside of funchal and enjoy the surrounding quiet and nature 💗
We had a wonderful week in Madeira at the house. Irina is a wonderful hostess who was very caring and helpful at any time. We can recommend this location wholeheartedly!
Irina was amazing. The home was cozy and exactly what we expected. It was special to stay in a 100 year old school house. The neighborhood is near a Levada for a nice walk. It is close to Calheta which is a great place to swim and stroll.
Lovely comfortable apartment in a quiet neighbourhood. Irina contributed to our relaxing and enjoyable stay through her friendly and uncomplicated nature.
Irina and her beautiful dog Enola, gave us a lovely welcome. The house is cozy and beautiful. The location is perfect if you want to go to the Levada Hikes and the Natural pools. I highly recommend it!

Excellent overall. Especially liked that it was in a quiet rural area but only a minute away from the main highway. House was well equipped. A great place to be based to explore the west side of the island. The only downside is that it's a bit of a drive for groceries but not a major issue.
Are stay was out Standing, was a experience we will never forget. Are stay at Casa caramelo was so nice, the owner is outstanding and helpful, clean and home from home. Her Dogs are very friendly and loved when they came for a visit.Thank you for a Great HolidayDarren and Kelly
I loved my stay at Casa Caramelo. Irina was such a warm and welcoming host, with lots of great tips for exploring Madeira. The flat was perfect, with everything I needed for my stay. It was lovely to have access to the courtyard area, which had plenty of sun and shade if needed and it great fun to play with Enola, Irina's beautiful German Shepherd dog. I would very much like to come and stay again oned day, thank you Irina!
Irina is incredibly kind and welcoming… from the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease. The house is located in a peaceful area a bit higher up, which makes it pleasantly cool, even on warmer days. Everything was spotlessly clean and well organized, and you can really see how much care she puts into the place.Irina also knows the island very well… if you’re looking for tips or ideas for your trip, she’s happy to help and gives great advice. And as a little bonus, her sweet dogs might stop by now and then to say hello … they’re just as friendly as she is.
We had a great stay at this location! Irina is a very lovely host and made sure we had the best time possible on the island. We also very much enjoyed the company of her enthusiastic dog Enola. The accommodation was good and had everything we needed. Though the ceiling was a bit too low for us tall people. The location was great with lots of places to go to nearby and we could easily reach most tourist/hiking/snorkling spots we wanted to see. It is more on the west side of the island so for activities on the east side you will have a bit longer drive. Overall we can definitely recommend a stay!
It was really great! Irina is very kind. She knows a lot about Madeira en what to do. Enola (her German shepherd) is also a lovely girl. We had an amazing stay. The house was clean and cozy. The location is not ideal if you don’t hire a car. But also not a problem if you have a rental car. Then it is very do-able
We have no bad things to say about our stay!
We spent 10 nights in this wonderfully adapted old school house. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. We were happily greeted by Irena our host and received a kind and wonderful welcome! The house was spotless and is well appointed. Everything you could need is available and Irena will work to make your stay enjoyable if you do find you need anything. Ceilings are low and the bed is short if your a tall person like me, but certainly doesn’t hold back the property or experience!
Lovely and charming house located in an strategic location of Madeira, the house is located near Calheta beach which is the best in the island, also it’s located to short car ride to the meeting points of the nicest hiking walks such 25 Fontes, Risco waterfall, Lagoa Do Vento and Levada Dos Cedros. The property is also located at 35 mins car ride of the natural swimming pools in Porto Moniz. We really enjoyed the accessibility to those great locations.
The house is cozy and adequately furnished. We shared the patio / garden with the owner and her dog Enola who were great hosts, Enola is a great and well behaved dog. Irina assisted us with our requests and gave us great tourist advice on places to go and avoid, she is a very kind and easy to get along lady. Overall I recommend the place for future guests.
I enjoyed my stay during recent vacation in Casa Caramelo Rustic House. The listing was as described and Irina was more than accommodating with my questions before and during my stay, highly recommended!
We had a fantastic time staying here, and our trip to Madeira wouldnt have been the same without Irinia and Inola, who gave us fantastic recommendations! Thoroughly recommend :)
Super Urlaub, tolle, nette Vermieterin. Einfach eingerichtet aber alles was man braucht.
