"Ciel y Miel is a beautiful boutique eco-lodge, but it’s important to know what to expect. It’s located inside a national park, so the final road is dirt and very remote. You park at the lower entrance and the staff drives you to the rooms. Our first night was an adjustment after a long drive. The property was very quiet (we visited during the low season), and the jungle sounds took some getting used to. By morning, we realized how peaceful and beautiful it really was. "Unfortunately never found the hotel as the map locator was 15 miles away. Looked for an hour on the map locator and couldn't find. Hopefully they fixed it now. DO NOT GO TO PORTOBELO village to find this hotel. Maps wrong."

"Stay anywhere but here. They don’t actively staff the property. If you want to get stranded on the coast after they take your money and provide no service it’s a great option. We booked the hotel after visiting isle grande and found an abandoned property upon arrival. Although initially the owner was kind and seemed motivated to help correct the situation she suddenly lost the ability to answer ANY messages on Expedia, phone calls, or emails from us or Expedia once they attempted to contact...
