"This is a lovely facility and a wonderful pastoral location. The rooms have good beds and are very clean and the staff is very warm and friendly. The food however does not meet their description.s It is very costly pretends to be gourmet food with little taste. It’s good that the location is wonderful and that the people are friendly. It makes the accommodation get a passing grade."

"Wow! What an experience to stay in this floating home in the Arctic Circle! Espen, the owner, was easy to deal with and answered all our questions prior and during the trip. The home is quite large. The beauty around the area was incredible. Would go back in a heartbeat. 10 stars all the way around."

"Our three‑night stay in the Whale Apartment at Steam pier near Tromsø was genuinely wonderful. The space itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and offered fantastic panoramic views that made every morning feel special. The bed was super comfortable, the apartment was quiet, and the location struck the perfect balance — peaceful, yet still close enough to Tromsø to explore easily. What truly elevated our stay, though, was the exceptional staff. As we checked in, the two young people who welcomed us were an absolute delight. Both the young lady and the young man were wonderfully kind, genuinely helpful, and greeted us with bright, happy smiles that instantly made us feel welcome. Their friendliness and positive energy set the perfect tone for our stay and left a lasting impression. Parking: Parking is straightforward, but you do have to pay, and this is clearly stated in advance. Please don’t take it out on the staff when you arrive — they’re not responsible for the parking fees. Just factor the cost into your budget or choose accommodation with free parking if that suits you better."

"We had an absolutely unforgettable stay here! From the moment we arrived, Esther made us feel so welcome with her thoughtful and caring hosting. The house itself is incredible—beautiful, cozy, and perfectly located, 15 min drive from the airport, to enjoy Tromsø and the surrounding islands. The highlight of our trip was, without a doubt, the Northern Lights. We were incredibly lucky to witness a long and stunning aurora display right from the house—and honestly, it was even better and longer than what we experienced on a guided aurora tour. Being able to watch it comfortably from the property made the experience even more magical. If you're hoping to see the aurora, this place gives you an amazing chance. Esther’s recommendations were also spot-on and really helped us make the most of our stay. We left feeling grateful for such a special experience and would recommend this place without hesitation. Truly a perfect stay! The only downside I would say is that the hot tub has a fixed price for a day. But also understandable as someone needs to be available for switching on/off. Overall a wonderful experience"
