"This is a very special property. Upon check in, we were told the legend of Pedro and Innes, a tragic and romantic story that allegedly took place here. This set the tone for our exploration of this grand and historic accommodation. The public lounges are exquisite, and the library is full of old-world charm. The gardens are moody and extensive, well worth a stroll. We dined in both their restaurants, and the service and food were flawless. Our reason for visiting Coimbra was to see the historic university. And although the university is exceptional, this hotel stole the show!"

"Great hotel, parking entrance and exit are a bit stressful. Breakfast is good, not sure if there was a possibility to have omelets. I hated the fact that there were no outlets on one side of bed. Gym is quite basic"

"The room was very clean. I would make sure that I had a view of the pool or the water if I stayed there next time. We were across from a pretty ugly building not a huge fan of the carpet. The service was great, the bartender the front desk people the massage staff were all great. The layout of this place is a little weird. We have to go through the dining area to get to the pool but once you get out there, the pool is beautiful."
