Mt Etna was difficult to climb, not only because of the elevation but because the ground was composed of fine volcanic ash. Think walking on a sandy beach at an incline. We never made it to the top, but this view at the midway point isn't too shabby. #adventure

Looking for an #adventure? Try climbing Mt Etna. But make sure to stay on well traveled paths and oh, avoid the lava. (Not too long after this photo was taken, the volcano erupted in 2017.)
Walking to the summit of Mount Etna. I have a great interest in geology with particular interest in volcanoes. It was great to be up on this active volcano, you could feel the heat through the rocks.

Good size room and we had an amazing view off our balcony. Shower stall is very small and uncomfortable. The breakfast spread is incredible, but I was disappointed that the hotel bar/restaurant had a very limited menu. There were about 10 items listed but they only had 4-5 of them available.
