We were just a short walk down from Colchester Castle and High Street, where we could find a wide range of pubs, restaurants, and shops. The city centre train station was just a short walk away as well. Thank you to our host for the awesome check-in and also for the lift to the "other" train station for our trip back into London. "The hotel was lovely, and the swimming pools amazing! The staff were lovely and friendly and really helpful. However, the rooms do not have air conditioning and become very hot when you can only open a small window. They did supply a fan, but it was still very hot. Breakfast really wasn't very good. The two nights we were their the breakfast was stone cold one day and luke warm the next, and the scrambled egg was like rubber! Other than the food the room was lovely and as the say the swimming pools were brilliant, they just need to improve the food, and maybe put a fridge in the rooms. Would have been helpful to keep some milk in their for my young son."
