"We booked a “deluxe” room. After dropping our luggage off in the room, heading to Salem for dinner, retuning for a nightcap at The Last Hurrah (great bartender btw,) we discovered that there was no coffee maker in our room. The young man at the front desk explained that ALL “deluxe” rooms don’t come with a coffee maker. That the hotel is a “historic” property and the room to which we were assigned could not fit a coffee maker. Hmmm after a few minutes of me laughing, the young man assigned us to a room with enough space for a coffee maker. Other than that ridiculous episode, everything else was perfect. Great bed, unbeatable location, friendly bartender…AND coffee to boot."

"It’s an older property so the layout is a little confusing. You have to drag your bags up a staircase in order to get to the elevators. So that was odd. But our bed was comfortable and the window opened so we were able to have our room at a comfortable temperature. Other reviewers said service staff was bad but our experience was very good. Even arriving at 3 am the front staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but very clean. The location is great. We enjoyed lunch at a little eatery a block or two away, Thornton’s Breakfast and Lunch."

"Had very short stay at citizenM due to late check-in! Hotel had a very boutique style which I liked. Room was both clean and very functional...only complaint was lack of an opener for water bottles. Moreover, it would be helpful if you had parking garage validation."
