"The best thing about the Mercure was the staff! Every single member was polite, courteous, friendly and helpful. The hotel has two wings and one side seems newly refurbished and the other seems rather tired and a bit jaded, but the standards were equally high in both. Comfy and well equipped.Surrounded by cows and sheep who were great to watch.Definitely need a blind in the main bathroom, so not fully exposed to the next door house or anyone coming along the road! We had to hang towels up at the window.Would highly recommend a 'welcome' folder with instructions for the oven, heating etc, but also where to put rubbish and recycling on departure.Also, find it strange that we had to make up our own beds on arrival? Have stayed in many holiday homes over the last 30 years but never had to do this before."

"Absolutely fab! Great location, lovely details that made us feel so special. We were only there for 2 nights but wish we’d been there longer. Very close to Bolton Abbey, and lovely walks near the house. We took our dog and kids, the kids thought we were in a magic house, it was so beautiful. Comfy beds, lovely and clean. The hosts were incredibly helpful and pointed us in the direction of fun things to do in the area. Felt like a home from home and were planning to visit in the Summer holidays. Can’t recommend enough :)"
