"Well, the staff was friendly. There were things that needed to be addressed. At one point one of the kitchen breakfast staff lock the door at 9:30. The door was not able to be opened from the inside, which was a safety hazard. Had to ask to be unlocked so that we could exit the breakfast area.The water in the room tepid at most. Never had hot water, even after talking to the maintenance man. This was a family get-together. None of us had hot water! When checking out there was a balance due, which was incorrect when I went back to the desk, the clerk charged me over $200 more. I waited until Monday when the general manager was in and call to speak with him. He agreed that I was overcharged and that his staff needed additional training. I asked for a receipt showing the credit to be emailed to me. I received the original receipt with the balance due, but never received the credit receipt. My credit card was credited, but even replying to the original receipt that I had received I never received the correct receipt."

"Hotel was being renovated though nothing was said or listed about this being the case when booking it. Hallways torn apart, entrance covered in plastic. Large commercial refuse container for construction outside our window view. Not very happy with this as we would not have booked this hotel, certainly not at their premium rate. Toilet ran noisily all night. General condition of hotel very poor!"

Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Jekyll Island

10/10 Excellent

"We recently stayed at this Days Inn for a short beach get away. We had a 2nd floor, double queen suite with an ocean view. The value for the money was amazing. Our view was great(lovely private balcony), the breakfast bar was not huge, but had a great variety. We had one small issue with plumbing that was remedied immediately. All staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. There are two pools, which were very well kept. The beach is a 5 minute walk across the property. The walking distance to the Main Street area with shops was less than 10 minutes. This hotel is not brand new, but I'll definitely stay here on my next trip to Jekyll Island."

Villas By the Sea Resort & Conference Center

6/10 Okay

"We had a 3 bedroom villa w/ocean views. The ocean views were fabulous but the villa (309) really needs renovating. The bathroom fixtures were old, the floors were old carpet that needed cleaning, the bed mattresses were lumpy& uncomfortable and the kitchen appliances need to be replaced and let's not talk about the furniture! The swimming pool was nice & clean. Check in was smooth. We did arrive early but unit was not ready had to wait a bit. They did have an Italian restaurant on the property. Food was OK, not great & the bartender did have an unfriendly attitude. I don't think we will be staying here again."
