"Lovely welcoming gent at reception when I arrived. Room was exceptionally clean and tidy... only issue for me was not having a wall mounted magnifying mirror in the bathroom to apply makeup. Next time I will take one with me. Many hotels do have these fixed. Makes all the difference for us ladies. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that. Over all, a great place to stay and I would go again. "

"We used this hotel as a place to sleep for which it was excellent. About 10 to 15 minute walk from the station which for us was great (when not raining). We didn't have breakfast only because we prefer to sample local cafés of which there are a few very close."

"The hotel is very run down. The bedroom was ok but smelt like someone had been smoking in it. The Scouse female member of staff had zero customer service skills! On check in we were completely ignored as she argued with another member of the team about another guests breakfast payment. The gentleman who check me in was polite. We came to the bar later on for a drink and the same female member of staff once again ignored us completely and couldn't even acknowledge our presence. Another female member of staff came from through the back and yelled..."is anyone waiting". Food manners cost nothing and can either make it break the experience of an average hotel. I wouldn't return."

"Lovely welcoming staff who was on in the evening. We had a superior room which was fine, some of the hotel is bit tiered looking as you would expect from a Victorian Highland hotel but communal dinning and sitting areas are clean and well kept. Buffet breakfast we great "

"It is an amazing place - beautiful - our suite (queen’s suite) was incredible. The staff are amazing and cannot do enough to make your stay perfect. The food is incredible- highly recommend their amazing dinner service. This our second time staying there and we will come back next year."

"The food and the service in the restaurant was terrible. We waited for an hour to get our pizza while people who ordered after us had already got their steak. Had chase down the staff 3 times and then our pizza turned up burnt "

"There are not enough superlatives to describe how beautiful this cottage is. My wife and I stayed for a week, and it is simply stunning. It needs for nothing, and it is super cozy, warm and quiet. It is a 5 min drive into Fort William, or maybe 30-40 min walk, via Inverlochy.The view from the living room and bedroom windows is of Ben Nevis.The owner was there to greet us upon our arrival, and explained everything, including the operation of the central heating. There was even a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge, thank you, and much needed after a 6 hour drive."
