Belén #market (inside the barrio de Belén, a suburb of Iquitos) is probably the most interesting market I visited in the whole of Peru. As well having the usual (and some of the more unusual) fruits, vegetables, fish, and meats for sale, Belén is where you'll find an abundance of natural products from the nearby Amazon jungle. These are either for sale in their organic state or had been made into various different medicines, tonics, and potions. The lodge is 3 hours boat ride from Iquitos, Peru deep in the Amazon & is the perfect spot to experience the real rainforest. Animals were abundant and truly wild unlike some lodges closer to Iquitos which have captive animals.
