"This is a very old characterful property, with low beams etc. Venue was chosen for a small family reunion and everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed themselves. "From arrival, the staff were not welcoming and made me feel as though I was an inconvenience rather than a guest. Throughout my stay, I found the service to be unfriendly and unhelpful. I was also disappointed that the gym and pool were only open for a limited period during the day. This is not practical for guests who are staying in town for work and are out during standard daytime hours. While the room itself was acceptable, there were several maintenance and convenience issues: - The shower appeared poorly maintained and flooded the bathroom every time it was used. - The TV reception was extremely poor, making it impossible to watch anything properly. - Parking arrangements were also frustrating, as it was actually cheaper to use the car park at the front of the building than the hotel’s own car park. Overall, the stay did not provide the standard of service or facilities I expected."
