Poppies, Baston, Lincolnshire. The whole of the field between King Street and the Baston Fields housing estate was ablaze with colour during summer 2005. – Opium poppies (Papaver somniferum) in the foreground and more red poppies (Papaver sp., likely P. rhoeas) in the background; this field was maybe used for opium poppy production in the year before, and was left fallow in 2005.
