تفاصيل مكان الإقامة

Sunny , cozy 1-bedroom, wooded, private, central Island location, close to ocean

  • One bedroom with queen-sized bed, living room, one small bath with tub and shower. There is a small refrigerator & Keurig; no kitchen. Free wi-fi, but no television. A wi-fi "extender" has resolved the wi-fi problems some commenters have written about. There is a large couch which a toddler or a very young child would be comfortable sleeping on, but it is not a fold-out bed. This unit is above our garage with separate entrance via an outside staircase, please see pictures. If anyone has mobility issues, this is not the place for you! Includes access (up two steps) to a screened in balcony.

We are located in the Town Hill area. BH downtown is a 15-20 minute drive from here, using the charmingly and accurately named "Crooked Road." NE and SW Harbors and Ellsworth, are also each about a 15-minute drive away. It is an easy 10-minute walk to Maine Coast Heritage Trust's "Blue Horizons" Reserve to reach the ocean, and the Blagdon Nature Reserve is a 5-minute drive.

Our stay was so wonderful! The place was extremely comfortable and the property it sat on was beautiful - like something out of a fairy tale. Our hosts were friendly and responsive, and provided plenty of basics to make our stay easy. We were grateful for the flashlight, which we hadn’t thought of and came in handy when we headed into Acadia for some late-night stargazing. We were very close to Bar Harbor and to the park. I’d stay here again in a second.

What an incredible find to enjoy the delights of Acadia and Bar Harbor! The room was cozy, pristine, private, and a perfect place to get away as my wife and I celebrated our honoeymoon. The bed was beyond comfortable, the room had ample sitting space, the bookshelves were stocked with not only incredible reads, but also some board games for a rainy day or relaxing night. The grounds the property is on are gorgeous and there's an easy beach access a short little hike away. Everything is an easy 15 minutes, and the drives are so pretty on the island that it never felt that long! Barbara was a delight and a fount of good information and guidance on what to do, and left wonderful notes and tons of guidebooks to peruse through. She let us borrow chairs for our Cadillac Mountain sunrise and was available at all times, but never forced herself into our trip (we were just happy to have her!). For the price, the comfort, the vibe, and the amenities, I cannot recommend this enough, and when we go back, this is the first listing I'll be looking for!

Barbara and David were wonderful hosts, and the space was spotless and very well stocked with essentials. We loved the location—tucked away in a quiet wooded setting, yet close to Acadia’s hikes and sights and just a short drive to Bar Harbor. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge after a day of hiking before heading into town for dinner.
