"From the very beginning, the Balsam Mountain Inn sang to me. I'd never been here before. I wanted a bed and breakfast near the Blue Ridge Parkway; and, yes, something affordable. The Inn is a HALF MILE from the Parkway, and the price was right for our mid-week getaway. Such an interesting, historic place. Between Waynesville & Sylva. So relaxing!"

"The property is in need of serious overhaul. The elevator has not worked for 6 months. The floor and the beds in our room were wet. We checked out after one day of our 4-day stay. I was shocked that this hotel retained its flag."
