"Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, beachfront, amenities including indoor/outdoor pool, hot tubs, water slides, and lazy river, game area with ping pong, close parking, 2 sinks in room, normal fridge/stove, comfy bed, great location. Cons: Took 15 mins for hot water to heat up in shower and sink. Purple glitter all over elevator entrance near spa door (was never vacuumed and tracked everywhere). Had to ask for extra towels twice per not enough for 3 people (but they were quick to give them). Only one tiny bar of soap for 3 people (but when I asked for 2 more, they dropped them by within 10 minutes). Overall, great stay, wonderful time. Would come back."

"I booked a stay at sand dunes for my sons birthday I seen the slides, lazy river and she's little so I thought it would be nice and the price wasn't bad but The room was filthy walls, floorboards, vents and the refrigerator had a molded paper the resort was more like a motel not very accommodating or convenient anything I wanted I had to get in my car and drive two blocks over because my villa tower didn't have a lobby no towels, I needed a new set of keys and had to pack my kids back up in the car to get the new set I got a phone call from the front telling me I was placed in the wrong room 24 hours after checking in the best part was the "water park" hotel was outdated and filthy I personally don't think it's worth the money it's maybe worth half the price but sure not what was paid"

"I didn’t plan to comment on the negativities I experienced at this resort because it wasn’t horrible, just disappointing that it was misrepresented online. I moved past that and chalked it up to not reading enough reviews, which was my fault. Until…we called and requested a later checkout on Sunday and were told they weren’t allowing those that certain weekend because they were fully booked. The vacancy sign was on all weekend. Let that go. But then…housekeeping knocked on our door at 10:40am when checkout is at 11am and asked when we’d be out. In my opinion, that is unacceptable and has never happened to me. The staff wasn’t able to answer when the bar & grill would be open. We asked because it wasn’t open during the hours provided on their website. It opened the next day but the staff should be knowledgeable. The air conditioning in our room was spotty. It would work sometimes and randomly turn off. I didn’t complain, just dealt with it. The beds were comfy and seemingly clean. The water pressure was awful. We enjoyed the grassy area with the tables and chairs. I wouldn’t stay there again and wouldn’t be writing this review if housekeeping didn’t interrupt the time we paid for and waiting outside of our door. We were out of our room at 10:58 and they were lurking. Paying a significant amount of money and being bothered before the checkout time is extremely inappropriate."

Island Vista Resort

"This is a beautiful location, somewhat private and located north of downtown, which makes it quieter and more relaxing. The property consists of privately owned apartments managed like a hotel. The front desk staff was respectful and helpful, and check-in was easy, with all the information we needed clearly explained. Our room was large and spacious, with a full kitchen, bedroom, living room, plenty of storage space, a sofa, chairs, and everything we needed. The view was amazing, with the ocean right in front of us. The property has two outdoor pools, a hot tub, and indoor pools for kids. There is direct beach access, which is wonderful, although they do not provide sunbeds on the beach. There is also a restaurant on-site where you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and very good pizza. The prices are fair for the quality of the food. Paula, the housekeeper, made sure we had everything we needed every day. Parking is included, and there is also public parking in front of the hotel. We were traveling with a trailer and a side-by-side, and they were able to provide parking for our car and trailer, but not for the side-by-side, so we used the public parking. The only thing that could be improved is the cleanliness around the edges of the hot tub, which were a little dirty. Everything else was awesome. I highly recommend this place for families or couples, and we will definitely be back."
