"Very spacious and clean rooms. Also spacious bathrooms.
Rooms facing the sea have excellent sea view from the large balcony.
Buffet breakfast is nice.
About 10 minutes walk from the central train station and also 10 mins walk to the ferry terminal where you can get tickets and board boats to various sightseeing ports of Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Etc.
Bus stands also nearby within few minutes walking.
Lots of eateries and stores in 5 minutes walk."
"We found the location to be inconvenient, not located near a train station with a few shuttle options though the shuttles seemingly don't run on Sundays? Breakfast options were okay but did cost per person.
We spent some time sitting around the pool relaxing and actually got locked out of the hotel. Took some time to get attention of an employee to be let back in, though they did not unlock the doors so we propped them open to continue enjoying the pool area."
"We booked Hotel Montestella after we arrived at a horrible unsafe and dirty VRBO and needed an emergency place to stay for the next 4 nights. This place was a life saver for us and so clean! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and am very grateful that there was a room available. Everything was perfect. I would definitely stay here again and will be recommending to my friends and family. Thank you so much!!!"
"It was a beautiful hotel with very nice amenities. We were a bit surprised it is in between 2 small towns at the top of a sheer cliff with little parking. Loved the beach and our room opened up to the sea. Stunning views."
"I was given a room with a balcony by thr older desk gentleman and it was totally relaxing. The room had beautiful blue tile, many light choices and an electric shade to the outside and one in the bathroom in glass. The best for lights were dimmed ones at night like little stars, not too bright, so I could see if I needed to get up. Nice and heavy blockout curtains, also. The food in the restaurant was very well prepared & tasty; make sure to ask for the chef's recommendations. The am buffet was very good with lots of choices. The front helped me with a few things, and older gentleman helped me to find a close and reasonable place to wash my clothes; the soap was included in the wash cycle! The wait staff was especially attentive and made me feel very pampered. If you stay more than one morning, then they can recall your favorite coffee. I would definitely go back, again!"
"The good: The staff were helpful and the views from the room were awesome. The location is good, it is a very interesting suburb of Salerno. Public transportation was very accessible.
The bad: There is no way around this but to say that the property in general is in poor shape. The shower and the tub in the room did not drain properly. The room door appeared to have problems being opened or closed, and the internal doors were likewise. The adjoining beach was not very useful because of broken glasses throughout. Finally, I stayed in countless other hotels in Europe and I can rate the breakfast quality and variety to be among the lowest tiers.
General advice unrelated to the hotel: Traffic in Salerno and surrounding region is heavy, and neither trains nor buses run on time. Plan accordingly."
"The hotel was simply delightful. The staff could not have done more to help at every occasion, breakfast, pool bar, dinner, reception and cleaners. The setting is simply stunning & although we went in may - so maybe early on in the season - it felt very calm & peaceful.
It’s not often we both agree we’d go back somewhere - but we would absolutely come back to Hotel Raito. Thank you!"
"We had a very good stay at Hotel Plaza. The location was excellent — only steps from the train station, which made traveling with luggage extremely convenient. The room was comfortable and had plenty of space for two people, even with two large suitcases and carry-ons.
What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. They even assisted us with getting our luggage over to the train station and helping us find the correct departure track, which made our travel day much less stressful.
Overall, this was a very practical, comfortable, and well-located hotel for anyone traveling through Salerno, especially if you are using the trains frequently."
