"The apartment was very clean, spacious, tastefully decorated and the owners have thought of every last detail to make the stay absolutely perfect. We had one double room and the bathroom and our Mum had the other double bedroom with ensuite. She has mobility issues and can get into a shower cubical but not a bath with overhead shower so it made it great for her. "We really enjoyed the cottage because it was ideal for the wet and cold weather conditions we experienced during our week on Skye. The spacious but warm living room with great view, big tv media system and lots of books meant it was easy to spend time in the house without feeling couped up. It is fairly far along the road but this comes with the plus of extra peace and quiet. We'd love to visit again."

"Location was good on our way to Skye. Bed was terrible. Could feel every spring. Terrible nights sleep. No water in room. For the price not great."

"Beautiful suite and the hot tub was so appreciated after hiking in the highlands. Staff were friendly and dinner at the restaurant was incredible. We weren’t able to book dinner online, but they ensured we were able to attend in arrival. We had a wonderful stay. The view from the hot tub was gorgeous!"

"Beautiful room - a comfortable place that feels like a home. Attention to detail was throughout. From the carpet to the ceiling was quality, and extremely clean. The sunny living room was so comfortable. This beautiful little harbor town had the friendliest folks. The only regret, I didn’t book a longer stay. Side note - I usually don’t write reviews, but this place was too nice not to share."

"The only things the Loch Shiel had going for it was that it was clean and on the way to where we were going. The view out the back of the hotel was a very nice bonus. The staff aside from the bartender was grouchy, cold and unfriendly. Absolutely zero Highland hospitality. The menu you see online IS NOT the menu available at the restaurant. The actual menu is very limited and the food was not very good. We were the first group seated at dinner at 7 and the last group served at 8:30 pm. There were 5 other groups who came in after us and were served and finished their meals before we were even served. We cannot recommend Loch Shiel hotel. If you need a hotel in the area our friends had a much better experience in the town of Strantion."
