"Great location, clean and comfortable apartment. Our only problem was that the main AC wasn’t working well. Otherwise, all was good. Easy to schedule and good communication with the office. Would stay again."

"The hotel was in a great location and had plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, convenience marts, and pharmacies within seconds/minutes of stepping outside. The cleaning could use some help, the inside of the wardrobe was very dusty and had “mold” like marks over the mirror, I ended up living out of my suitcase as I didn’t feel comfortable putting in my things. The hotel and amenities are a little dated, but it’s not like that can’t be seen in the pictures. I stayed in a single bed room, it was perfect for me as a solo person, but the shower stall is small (like very tight- I’m about average build at 5’3). Also I did not have hot water at all, so that kind of sucked. They lack to mention that their plug ins are the 3-hole ones!! So if you’re bringing an adapter make sure you bring a 3-prong one!! The electricity times out as well, so if you have the light on, phone charging, and the tv on, it’ll cause the electricity to go out and you’re stuck waiting anywhere from 1-2hrs. I know this is common in other countries I’ve been too, but a heads up would have been appreciated…. Breakfast was nothing special (eggs, Canadian bacon, pastries, cheese, meats), it was decent, but I appreciated all the friendly waitstaff. With that said, I did enjoy my stay and always felt safe, and would return here again. 7.5/10"
"A nice hotel in a great location with friendly and helpful staff.
The room was a good size but the furniture was a little dated and our room had a couple of slightly wobbly tables, but nothing seriously wrong.
A huge fully fitted bathroom with walk in shower, basin, bidet, wc and heated towel rail. Emergency pull cord in the shower.
Attentive and very reactive staff. A minor water leak was attended and repaired within an hour and a request for more room coffee was delivered within minutes.
The bar area was small and did not appear well used.
A small gymnasium was available.
The lifts are accessed via a small flight of stairs, but there is a single person wheelchair lift and a porter if required.
Many nearby restaurants, shops and bars. Very short walk to the Repubblica Metro station and bus stops outside the hotel. Public transport is ridiculously cheap using tap-in.
Overall, I would definitely stay again."
"We just stayed for two weeks with the Hotel Scalinata di Spagna - in their family Apt. This apt was very spacious and had a very comfortable bed. The Hotel is centrally located to all you want to see in Rome. The hotel is located Within a mile 1/2 of all major attractions.
The staff was very friendly, pleasant, and professional.
When we return to Rome we will definitely reserve the same apt. Thank you for a wonderful experience."
"The hotel was located in a portion of a large building. To reach the hotel portion, there was a small elevator on the ground floor of this building There were no security cameras around the elevator There were no guards at the door to the building. The building door remained open to the public until evening (@ 6 pm). The day before we left, while waiting for the elevator, 4 young men entered and tried to get us on the elevator with them. My husband was pulled in and then they left/ran out of the elevator and the building before the elevator ascended My husband got off the elevator and discovered his wallet had been stolen by the men. He ran after them but they had a head start. We went then to the reception desk for the hotel. They were very sympathetic, called the police and helped explain our situation. We did find our wallet thrown to the floor with ID and credit cards intact. However, all cash was stolen. We don't know if they ever found the thieves. The hotel told us that it was sorry this happened, but since the incident occurred in the lobby of the building, waiting for the elevator, and not in the actual space of the hotel (i.e. not in the reception area, a hotel room or the hall to the rooms), they were not responsible and offered no reduction in our hotel fee nor any other compensation for this trauma. Hopefully cameras have been installed. This was a frightening experience. Although the staff was very nice and helpful, I cannot recommend the hotel."
