Latroupe Grand Place

"I had a really great stay at La Troupe Grand Place. The location was amazing, super easy to walk to all the main attractions, and Brussels-Zuid train station is only 20 minutes away. I stayed in a 4-person mixed dorm room and it was ideal for my two day visit. Everything is beautifully clean and the shower was the best I’ve ever had in a hostel! You have a curtain to pull over your bed for privacy as well as your own light and charging ports. The bed was very comfy and spacious. As a woman sharing the room with three men, I felt safe and comfortable the entire time, everyone was very respectful of each other in terms of noise and lights etc. All the staff that I dealt with were very friendly and helpful; for example I needed to print a train ticket and it was no problem at all. They also recommended me events that were happening in the hostel and good places to eat nearby. Not negatives but just a couple of things to be aware of: it’s 3 euros to rent a towel and there is a luggage storage but you also need to pay for this. Thank you for a wonderful stay, I would definitely stay here or at one of your other locations again!"

"Of the two rooms we booked, one had a completely outdated bathroom. The showerhead was fixed to the wall, the water pressure was extremely weak, and the water temperature was almost impossible to control. It would suddenly switch from scalding hot to cold. The soap holder was also broken. For a 4-star hotel, it was quite surprising that neither slippers nor a minibar were provided in the rooms. Overall, the hotel has clearly seen better days and is in serious need of renovation and modernization. Considering all these, the price is definitely too high for the quality and level of comfort offered."

"This is my second stay in the hotel (room 92 this time) and I did have a nice stay there. There were, however, some minor nuisances that went in the way of the experience that need to be taken care of. 1. the bath room sink was blocked and it needs immediate attention because the sink was getting filled up quite quickly. 2. This was not really a problem for me during my stay but I can see that being a problem to others down the line especially people who will rent the same room (92) in winter. The balcony door needs to be sealed better because I felt draft coming from there. 3. This just me being a little picky here but more tea bags and coffee would have been really appreciated. The staff provided everything I needed but it would have been been better to have enough tea and coffee in the room. Other than that, there isn't really any issue I can think of. I had a great stay and I will definitely consider the hotel again when I visit Brussels again."
