"The main issues we noticed was that it seems they have some plumbing issues to figure out. In both rooms that we had it seemed that the shower pan was leaky and even if you were really careful water went all over the floor. That seemed to cause a very musty smell in the room. Surprised to see that issue with such a new building. Also took a few minutes for hot water but that's pretty common in Madagascar. It was plenty hot once it got going. I hope they get the leaking issue sorted out...

"Booked 5 rooms for 5 people at Bira hotel. Booking was confirmed. Then an hour before we arrived, we were told the hotel was full and that we were being moved to another hotel. We then ended up staying at Hôtel MENABE'L, which is normally a cheaper hotel. We still had to pay the price for Bira Hotel, which was 50% higher than the listed price on Hôtel MENABE'L. "An absolute Gem, Nicole and Jimmy are wonderful hosts, very accomodating, informative and exceptionally good homecooked cuisine. There is a shop on site and a bank next door. Relaxing beautiful, well maintained garden. Highly recommend."
