"I've stayed at Old Silk Appartments twice so far in apartments 8 and 9. Both I found spotless, white soft towels, comfy beds, tastefully decorated well maintained and adequately appointed. Large fridge freezer, 4 ring hob oven and microwave, basic set of kitchen utensils and a couple of pans adequate to cook something simple. "I arrived at the hotel and went to my room, only to find that it was extremely hot. The air conditioning was not working, and although I reported the issue to staff, they were not particularly helpful. The only solution offered was a very small fan, which was nowhere near adequate given that the temperature was around 30°C that day. As a result, the room was uncomfortable and unsuitable for staying in. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to leave the hotel and book accommodation elsewhere. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, particularly due to the lack of effective support from staff when dealing with the issue."

"This is a fabulous hotel in all aspects but I must mention the excellent breakfast in particular. So much choice and delicious. Modern environment with lots of space and high quality furnishings. Individual rooms are original and fully equipped. Our new favourite in Leicester. Good price too. Love it. Staff are really nice and friendly."

"The Genting was always a favourite stopover when traveling through England as it breaks up the trip from London to Yorkshire. The hotel is still quite nice compared to others in the area but doesn’t seem to have been maintained to the high standards it once was. The spa experience was still great, however the outdoor spa was not working and I had to share the pool experience with the cleaning crew at 7am. The building that it shares has some challenges with managing the smell from the bins and as such the hotel had to pump quite a bit of perfume into the air of the lobby to mask the smell."

"Book a night at village hotel walsall staff member booked us in took so long thought we was sleeping at reception got to room and no milk or coffee then put tv on and could not get any signal and couldn't even watch anything when I mentioned this Sunday 31st may 2026 was told they would get maintenance on it Monday so it's repaired Mr s baddeley"

"The staff were extremely helpful. I can't remember there names but my glasses broke when I was there and I can't see without my glasses I needed a temporary fix to get me home. I spoke to Reception to ask for a bit of sellotape or glue and she called the maintenance guy who patched then up til I got home. I thanked them when checking out and Manager was a lovely lady who showed us a easier route to sealife as my mum has difficulties in walking. It was a lovely hotel, good location and we definitely return soon."

"I recently stayed at The Grand Hotel Birmingham with a party booking three rooms. Overall, the hotel is clean, tidy, well-maintained, and feels very fresh. Check-in was quick and efficient. We initially stayed in Grand Double Rooms on the second floor, which were modern, clean, and offered plenty of space, along with a spotless and fresh bathroom. The hotel bar is also a lovely, relaxing space with friendly and highly efficient staff, though prices are on the higher side, it would be a classy touch if they offered complimentary nuts or snacks with drinks. Unfortunately, our first evening was severely disrupted. There was a function on, and the bass was so intense that the rooms on the second floor were literally bouncing, making sleep impossible. When I complained to reception, the staff initially seemed reluctant to help. However, after I explaining that I was travelling with someone recovering from a stroke who had gone to bed at 18:30 and was unable to sleep, they took action. They moved two of our three rooms up to Grand Deluxe Double Rooms on the fifth floor. These rooms were fantastic very large, spacious, clean, and quiet enough for us to finally get some sleep. The music continued into the early hours. It was highly disappointing that despite requesting that the duty manager contact me, they didn't bother to do so."
