"Hotel Sonne is a comfortable hotel right in the center of Lienz, a quick walk from the train and bus stations. The interior of the building itself is definitely dated and a bit austere, but that really didn’t impact my stay. My room was comfortable and had a fantastic view of the mountains. The breakfast options were great, and I appreciated that breakfast itself started at 6:00 (I’m an early riser). The staff were friendly and accommodating. "Lovely authentic Tyrolean hotel . Rooms are large and newly renovated. Breakfast is a decent continental selection. A 3 course set dinner menu is available each night though we didn’t try it. The village is beautiful. We didn’t have a car but the bus and train network to neighbouring villages was pretty good and straightforward plus you get a free transport pass with the hotel. There is a bus stop outside the hotel and the train station is less than 10 minutes walk. All the shops are very close...
