"You must have a car while visiting this property. Otherwise there is nothing to do. There is a very nice outdoor pool that is not heated. So it must be warm enough outside to enjoy it. The hotel offers a nice breakfast. There is no bar or restaurant at the hotel. About a half mile walk from the hotel is a very expensive restaurant with a limited menu. "The property is well situated about half way if doing the Douro drive loop. Grounds are lovely with rooms overlooking vineyards - very serene and quiet. Lots of onsite parking. The town itself is worth the trip and the people are among the most friendly I have encountered in Portugal. Even the dogs are mellow. We will return."
