Ancrum Market Cross The 15th century cross 'lost its head' many years ago
Ancrum War Memorial Situated at the edge of the village green.
Ancrum Village Green A Guy Fawkes bonfire is taking shape on the green. Surprising, considering the health and safety regime prevalent in the country nowadays. In my home town in the 1960s the rival areas all had their own bonfire and I remember the fun involved in collecting bonfire material for November 5th.
Ancrum Market Cross This late 16th century cross is situated on the village green. The head is missing from the stone shaft. Behind is the war memorial, erected in 1920, in the form of a market cross in red sandstone.
