Gran Hotel Los Abetos

"There wasn't a lot wrong that I could say about the Gran Hotel Los Abetos. It was fabulous from start to finish. The check-in experience was excellent. Very quick and efficient. The staff were lovely and very attentive and the amenities were great. The only thing I would mention, and it's minor, is that some of the poolside furniture and mattress covers for the loungers looked a bit tired looking and could do with a good wash. The pool itself was excellent, with great depth that allowed for a good swim. Really, we were sorry to leave; had we known how wonderful the hotel was we would have stayed there for our entire four-day trip. An added bonus was the hotel's excellent shuttle bus service into Santiago. If you wanted to stay later than the last bus back at 20:05, a taxi was around €10.00 which was very reasonable. All taxis took card payments so you weren't caught needing cash. An overall wonderful experience; we would definitely stay there again if we return, which we definitely will. Santiago was amazing."

"The hotel is perfectly located at Plaza de Obradoiro. Our room was good although I would have like it to have better view. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff there and the hotel in general were very friendly and helpful. Hope to stay there next time."

"Good functional accommodation. The colour scheme is not relaxing though but the breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice if you get down early. Note that you have to ask for room cleaning. One really annoying thing is the toilet/shower. First it has a frosted glass divider which is weird and not really private. Second the automatic light doesn't go off until after about 20 minutes meaning the room is lit up after a middle of the night visit. On the other hand the room was very quiet even though we were next to the road."

"Pleased with the room. Amazing sea view we were not expecting. Could fall asleep to the crashing waves. Helpful staff. Not cheap but I guess the incredible location is partly what one pays for. Parking around the hotel. Potential to be a little cleaner as there was sand in the wardrobe from a previous guest."

"Very nice hotel. Only down side is that it is not near the old town but I never had a problem getting a taxi. Hotel is 1 block from a grocery store and 1 block from a laundromat which was convenient for me."
